When a gate valve is closed, the sealing surfaces rely solely on the pressure of the medium to achieve a seal—specifically, the sealing surface of the gate is pressed against the valve seat on the opposite side by the medium’s pressure, thereby ensuring a tight seal. This type of sealing is known as self-sealing. By contrast, most gate valves employ forced sealing: when the valve is closed, an external force is used to press the gate against the valve seat, guaranteeing the sealing performance of the sealing surfaces. Such valves should be installed vertically in the pipeline.

Performance

1. The valve can be locally and remotely controlled according to user requirements, and can also provide remote and centralized display.

2. Lightweight: The valve body is made of carbon steel, making it approximately 20%–30% lighter than conventional gate valves, which facilitates installation and maintenance.

■ Product Overview

The slurry valve gets its name from its application in mining operations. It consists of a three-piece assembly, comprising a cast valve body and two flanges welded together. It features hardmetal sealing surfaces and stainless steel gate plates. Its core components are the gate and the left and right sealing plates, which together form a three-plate dynamic sealing assembly. Working principle

Valve Operation: The valve is opened and closed by controlling the up-and-down movement of the gate plate via a lifting and lowering actuator. When the valve is open, the gate plate rises, creating a fully open flow path through the pipeline, allowing the medium to pass smoothly. When the valve is closed, the gate plate descends and tightly contacts the sealing surface, achieving a secure seal.

 

Sealing Principle: A sealing ring assembly, comprising a first sealing ring and a second sealing ring, is fitted between the valve seat and the gate. The sealing is achieved through the tight fit between the sealing rings and the sealing surfaces. The valve body is fitted with an expandable rubber seal ring that contracts when the valve is opened and expands when the valve is closed, pressing tightly against the valve disc to ensure a secure seal.
