When a gate valve is closed, the sealing surfaces rely solely on the pressure of the medium to achieve a seal—specifically, the sealing surface of the gate is pressed against the valve seat on the opposite side by the medium’s pressure, thereby ensuring a tight seal. This type of sealing is known as self-sealing. By contrast, most gate valves employ forced sealing: when the valve is closed, an external force is used to press the gate against the valve seat, guaranteeing the sealing performance of the sealing surfaces. Such valves should be installed vertically in the pipeline.
Performance
1. The valve can be locally and remotely controlled according to user requirements, and can also provide remote and centralized display.
2. Lightweight: The valve body is made of carbon steel, making it approximately 20%–30% lighter than conventional gate valves, which facilitates installation and maintenance.
3. Using this type of valve can enhance the sealing performance of pipeline systems, minimizing leaks to the greatest extent possible, thereby playing a positive role in improving production efficiency and protecting the environment.
4. The sealing surface is designed with a highly wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant ceramic composite material, using an inlaid technology. This results in superior corrosion resistance and excellent wear resistance, significantly extending the service life of China’s valves and increasing their cost-effectiveness by a factor of 10 compared to conventional valves.
The concealed-plate knife gate valve with cover, also known as a gas-specific valve, is primarily used in pipelines transporting gases or liquids such as natural gas and sewage. It effectively prevents leakage from the upper sealing cover. Its key features include easy installation, cost savings, and excellent wear and corrosion resistance. This type of knife gate valve is commonly employed in pipelines conveying powders, slurries, gases, and liquids. The upper sealing design of this knife gate valve breaks away from conventional sealing methods by adopting an upper-cover structure, transforming the original large-area rectangular seal into a smaller-area circumferential seal, thereby significantly enhancing sealing performance. Building on this circumferential sealing design, the valve further incorporates a state-of-the-art floating sealing structure that is currently widely recognized internationally. As a result, the upper seal achieves a service life comparable to that of the pipeline itself, thus substantially extending the overall service life of the valve. When equipped with a protective enclosure fitted atop the handwheel, all moving parts of the valve remain fully enclosed, ensuring that the screw transmission between the gate and the valve stem will not become jammed or stuck due to dried-up lubricant. This design is particularly well-suited for long-term, reliable operation in harsh environments characterized by dust and dryness.

Structural features of the packing for the knife gate valve with a hidden blade:
1. The mid-seal of the knife gate valve with a concealed plate adopts an O-ring sealing structure. Compared to the long annular sealing structure used in open-plate knife gate valves, this design offers superior sealing performance, greater pressure resistance, and a longer service life.
2. The packing structure design of our company’s concealed-plate knife gate valve features the following enhanced performance characteristics:
A. The mid-way packing area is equipped with a concentric shaft sleeve, which effectively prevents irreversible hazards such as eccentric opening and closing of the gate valve stem during operation, leading to packing damage, stem scratches, or gate misalignment.
B. The mid-range packing uses braided graphite oil-packed packing or other material-packed packing, which can effectively reduce packing wear caused by friction or other factors.
C. A high-strength spring structure (patented design) is installed above the gland. This structure automatically compensates for packing wear by tightening the packing simultaneously, thereby preventing medium leakage caused by packing loss.
